The therapists at PPTS have extensive experience in treatment of neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy or spina bifida. Most children with neurological conditions receive therapy through early intervention or school programs. Some families chose to have extra periodic therapy through PPTS particularly during school breaks where the child may not receive services at all. The therapists at PPTS routinely use modern technologies such as EMG Triggered Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation and EMG biofeedback as a way of getting quicker results - the children love to work with these technologies as they are just like computer games
Intensive Physical Therapy
Over the past three decades scientists have shown that brains can change. Up until that point it was believed that if the brain was damaged the resulting disability was permanent because the brain could not change. This exciting new knowledge allows patients with disabilities as a result of brain damage to make functional progress in movement control if they engage in the rights type of training.
Working intensively over a period of weeks will yield progress in children with neurological conditions that will not be seen through regular weekly therapy.
